A great man has rightly said that if your cause is not on the internet, then your cause will soon be outdated and this seems to appear true in the world around us today. In this age of Science, Technology plays an important role in many forms such as Computers, Internet, Digital Education, E-Mail, Social Media and so on. During the times when we were students, we had to face many challenges and difficulties to gain knowledge. We had to go and search books from hundreds of shelves in the library, unlike today, as easily as it is available on search engines like Google. To send a message to someone who was far away, letters, telegram and later on, trunk calls were the only option, communication was not as easy as it is today, again with a click you can have a Video Call with someone sitting thousands of kilometres away. With advancement in information and broadcasting, knowledge of events in every nook and corner of the world is easily accessible
The reach of Education has been quicker in Urban areas, however, there is still a lot more that needs to happen when it comes to quality education in our rural areas.
The contribution of our family in the field of education started much before I was born, my fathers great grandfather Rai Abhiram Bali, the Taluqdar of Rampur-Daryabad, who started an English Medium School in Daryabad and had set a fine example by sending members of his own family to attend the institution, as is mentioned in the gazetteer of Oudh. It was well taken care of and advanced by my great grandfather Rai Bahadur Rai Mahadeo Bali.
My grandfather Rai Umanath Bali, established the Bhatkhande Sangeet Sansthan, which is now a deemed university in Lucknow along with the Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, an examination body for promotion of Indian Classical Music, Dance and Vocals.
On the instructions of Rai Umanath Bali, his younger brother Rai Somnath Bali, founded the Lal Bahadur Shastri Inter College in Daryabad. My grandfather, Rai Umanath Bali, was a great contributor to the field of Institutional Education. LBS Inter College is one of the oldest aided colleges in the Barabanki District and the oldest in the Daryabad Area.
I started practicing Agriculture when I was in the 8th standard, and since the very beginning I have a lot of attachment towards Daryabad and its people. I always wanted the people of Daryabad to see the kind of progress which many of the districts and towns have gone through. While I was studying in the Intermediate I could see that Educational Opportunities were bare minimum. Sometimes I would think that I have the opportunity to study in Lucknow and stay with my parents but what about our education seekers from Daryabad and nearby areas, How will they study? How will they be able to get the kind of education I would be getting in Lucknow? All these thoughts made me feel really sad about situation in which our education was and and also the lack of equal opportunities for education seekers in Rural and Urban areas.
During those days in Daryabad, most of the students went to attend institutes of higher education, quite far away, some even crossing rivers, the others walking down a couple of miles and a very few who cycled to reach their destination.
At that point of time I couldn't to do much, when it came to higher education, however, I always wanted that a higher education institute should be present to promote the cause of education so that we have more and more skilled and trained professionals who build a better India and take forward the name of our region.
I couldn't do anything in regard to the higher education for the people of my generation, however, our effort at Rai Umanath Bali Institutional Education Society is to create an educational atmosphere, that not only maintains its standard of education but, also help the student with the learning he has gained with us, in his life even after completion of his course.
We believe in kindling the spirit of education along with strengthening our social, cultural and traditional values. Currently we have the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) courses available. In the beginning for its first academic year the college was purely a woman Degree College, however, the need for equal educational opportunities for both the genders is a must and hence we decided to apply to convert it into a co-educational college which was accepted by the concerned authorities and the University. From its Second Year onwards the College welcomes both Male and Female students.

About the Founder
Rai Swareshwar Bali belongs to the erstwhile Rampur-Daryabad Estate in Barabanki District of the Oudh Region of Uttar Pradesh. As an educationist, he is the Vice-President of Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith - India's famous educational body in Indian Classical Music, Dance, Instrumental and Vocal, and Manager of Lal Bahadur Shastri Inter College, Daryabad, an institution providing education upto the intermediate level, affiliated to the UP Board, it is one of the oldest inter college in the Dariyabad Area of Barabanki District.
Rai Saheb is the Secretary of British Indian Association (Anjuman-e-Hind, Oudh), the association of the Taluqdars of Oudh. He is the third generation Member of the Dewa Fair and Exhibition Committee and has been its Member for over 25 years.
